PC-FLAC’24

We are the Florida branch of Pax Christi USA, part of the International Catholic Peace Movement. Our mission is rooted in Gospel nonviolence and has shaped our history in Florida for over 40 years as we strive to witness the Peace of Christ. We are grounded in Catholic social justice teaching and fidelity to antiracism and are open to all people of faith and goodwill. We seek to build the Beloved Community that brings forth the biblical vision of shalom, peace, social justice, reconciliation, inclusion for all, and integrity with creation. 

• We have read “The Signs of the Times” and are disheartened with the divisive and unloving political culture in our state and many policies adopted by the 2023 Legislature. 
• We are particularly concerned about the rise of Christian Nationalism that threatens democracy and misrepresents Christianity.
• We must speak out and bring forth an alternative Christian voice in our advocacy.
• We invite you to join us as we seek to engage our Florida Legislature in 2024.  

To these ends we have launched this campaign to map our journey through the coming months as the Florida Legislature convenes in the Spring of 2024. We seek to dialogue with our legislators both locally and in Tallahassee as we advocate for public policy on issues that can build a more just and equitable society in our state. We also seek to dialogue with our Catholic Bishops across the state to encourage their prophetic leadership within our Catholic community.
